3 Simple Homemade Beauty Recipes That Anyone Can Master

1. Repair & renew your lips with a super simple sugar lip scrub:

Are your lips feeling dry or cracked as the cooler weather takes hold?  

Did you know a freshly scrubbed lip holds lipstick longer?

This super simple scrub will freshen up your lips and leave you with some lovely soft lips.

Luscious Sugar Lip Scrub


1 tsbp coconut oil

1 tbsp honey

2 tbsp brown sugar

1 container 20ml capacity


Add all ingredients to a small bowl and hand mix with a spoon until well combined. Transfer the mixture to your container, it is now ready to use!

To use:

Take a small amount of the scrub from the container and gently massage over your lips using your fingertips for about 30 seconds, rinse with warm water and then moisturise your lips.

The lip scrub mixture will last up to one month in an airtight container.

2. DIY Tinted Moisturiser: Who doesn’t have a stash of foundations in the bathroom?  

Wrong colour, wrong thickness, didn’t love it, or just never finished it… who knows why? Repurpose that liquid gold into a tinted moisturisers for a soft dewy everyday look.  

Simply mix equal parts foundation and moisturiser together and then test against your skin, add more foundation or moisturiser until you get a colour that’s perfect for you. 

3. Repurpose your morning coffee into a luxe body scrub:

Coffee scrubs are not just about making a diabolical mess in the shower, those granules are perfect to effectively remove dead skin. Some testing also shows that caffeine may reduce the appearance of cellulite… so what are you waiting for?

If you have a home ground coffee machine, use the off cuts of your morning cup to make this beautiful scrub.

Single Use DIY Coffee Scrub

To make a single use scrub, take 1/3 cup of ground coffee (or what is left over from your cup) mix in a dash of hot water and a tablespoon of coconut oil. Mix until it is well combined.

Take into the shower with you, ideally apply the scrub in the shower (before you turn on the taps) and allow to soak in for a few minutes. Start shower and rub gently all over with an exfoliating glove until you’re clean and fresh. Apply body moisturiser after your shower to hydrate your fresh and supple skin.
